This last Christmas Zachary gave Daniel a remote control airplane. I guess Daniel has always had a fascination with these things since he was little. Unfortunately the two airplanes he had when he was younger met their demise when he was on his mission. I got him one a few years ago for his birthday and on its maiden voyage it decided it wasn't capable of flying and it crashed and died. So he got this $30 plane and has been waiting anxiously for the weather to be warm enough to fly the plane with Zachary. So between the temperature, rain, snow, and wind, he finally got the chance to fly it a few weeks ago. Surprisingly, in all its Styrofoam glory, it flies quite well. It only holds its charge for about ten minutes and then you have to recharge it again. Daniel was so excited about flying it that after its initial flight we recharged it and then went back to the park to fly it again that same afternoon. Seriously, he reminds me of a kid in a candy store with this thing. Since that initial day he has taken it out on almost every good-weather day we have had. He is already talking to Zachary about building an airplane that is gasoline-powered and can drop toy bombs. I guess we know what to get him for father's day . . .
